In line with our emphasis on providing great on-line information, we have for some time been shipping product literature with most of our shipments.

One question that seems to be causing confusion is the storage conditions for PROBIOTIC products such as Dophilus and New Chapter brands. We store ALL probiotics in refrigerated storage to ensure maximum freshness and viability. This is NOT common practice on-line retailers.

We thought that PROBIOTICS as a class of products deserved some special attention and therefore we have created a web resource specific to this objective of informing and educating. You can see the fruits of our efforts at www.dophilus.com. Let us know what you think!

For sometime we have been promoting New Chapter. This month we are featuring Jarrow.

Jarrow is a well known supplier whose tag line:

Superior Nutrition and Formulation

Pretty much captures the company mission very well. We recent wrote a short article on Jarrow , you can read it here. Jarrow is celebrating its 30th birthday this year and we though t it fitting to do so by offering the lowest prices we have ever had on their products.

Enjoy it while it lasts!!

We recently obtained some very comprehensive information providing scientific data backing the use of many key active compounds used in natural health supplements. The information is directed towards the New Chapter brand but the information can be thought of as being more generic.

If you are an avid customer for New Chapter (I am myself), you will find the new site www.health1on1.com both informative and interesting!

After many months of discussion FDA Issues Dietary Supplements Final Rule has been issued (Friday 22 June 2007). This tightens the loop hole used by some lower quality manufacturers. Raising the quality bar to a minimally acceptable level without undue cost is strongly supported. For 80% of manufacturers this has no ramification as they already follow cGMP. Read more about it here:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today announced a final rule establishing regulations to require current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) for dietary supplements. The rule ensures that dietary supplements are produced in a quality manner, do not contain contaminants or impurities, and are accurately labeled.

"This rule helps to ensure the quality of dietary supplements so that consumers can be confident that the products they purchase contain what is on the label," said Commissioner of Food and Drugs Andrew C. von Eschenbach, M.D. "In addition, as a result of recent amendments to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, by the end of the year, industry will be required to report all serious dietary supplement related adverse events to FDA."

The regulations establish the cGMP needed to ensure quality throughout the manufacturing, packaging, labeling, and storing of dietary supplements. The final rule includes requirements for establishing quality control procedures, designing and constructing manufacturing plants, and testing ingredients and the finished product. It also includes requirements for recordkeeping and handling consumer product complaints.

David Seckman, executive director and CEO of the Natural Products Association said:

We’ve waited nearly 13 years for this important regulation and are anxious to thoroughly review it and let members know exactly what it will mean to them…. With recent concerns raised about the safety of food ingredients, implementation of this regulation will help to bolster consumer confidence and keep standards high throughout the industry.

MyHealthMyWorld and all at Natural Health Formula Co-op agree.

Our coop is continuing to expand, and we are very pleased to be able to announce an additional site that focuses upon hard to find natural wholefoods and other natural products. For sometime we had want to be able provide a wider range of specialized foods and herbal ingredients. To do this, we have launched www.NatureCoop.com, a website that is dedicated to mainly organic and natural food and supplements.

We will continue to provide the same vast range of quality brand products at MyHealthMyWorld.com. However, we felt that it would be better to create a new site identity rather than expect you to try and navigate through the same single site.

If you like www.MyHealthMyWorld.com, we hope you will love www.NatureCoop.com.

This has been one of our most frequent questions from you, our members. It seems that many on-line stores often fail to deliver. We have found that one of the best ways to ensure customer absolute satisfaction is only ever list current inventory that is verified to be in stock - TODAY!

Therefore - we have introduced a new feature "Check Inventory?"!!!!! Maybe marketing should get out more often and have come up with a better name? But we do think that this will be a welcomed option. The Current inventory will appears on every product page. Click on the "Check Inventory?" and yes!- as you might expect you get exactly what we have in stock. In addition - you can always email us for orders that exceed our stock.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best.

We dynamically update inventory every 24 hours so what you see is a very good indication of what is available. The inventory level even counts down based on order commitment within MyHealthMyWorld.com. However - we do sell through other chanels - so there is always the slight chance that stock might have already been sold. We are not yet perfect - but this WILL be a big benefit to you our customers. - We hope!

We have had some great compliments recently about elements of our site design. Thanks for all the feedback and we welcome your thoughts.

Please let us know both the bad and the good. For example, the other day a customer emailed to let me know of an ordering issue that they were having - our web person did not know about the issue and was able to sort it out both for the one customer and everyone else.

One item I thought you might be interested in is did you know that you can play with the falling icons (normally leafs) on the home page http://www.myhealthmyworld.com/. Just click on the logo at the top of the page and use your mouse to adjust how the falling icons behave. You can try it here:

At our Coop, our thoughts and opinions on what packaging to use are very mixed. Where possible we try to use only recyclable materials. We try to reuse materials when reasonable, and we try to ship from the nearest of our two warehouse (when we have the item at both locations).

However, the challenge is that many of the products that we ship contain glass bottles. A broken glass bottle is obviously something we try to avoid. For small bottles, we find paper and corregated cardboard work. However, for any larger bottles and orders, we often take the precaution of using bubble wrap.

If you have an opinion about our packaging - please email us at custserv@myhealthmyworld.com.

And Thanks!
