Things have been buzzing along at MyHealthMyWorld. There are three main topics of gossip:

The first is part of our general expansion. We have introduced a large number of Jarrow Formula products. We really like both new and old products by this widely recognised leader and innovator. We particularly respect the genuine contribution that Jarrow makes back to the industry. We now supply three hundred and twelve (312) different formulations from Jarrow.

Next week we will be contacting all current members for voting on our industry projects for next year. (This link on how we match your MyHealthMyWorld  rewards explains how this works). Remember your vote counts - and we need to have all replies by 9th December so that we can announce our plans before the end of the year. If you have bought products from us during the year or you hold MyHealthMyWorld reward points from 2005 - keep an eye open for an email  from  us ……

The main  Coop project for this year  has been related to  developing a personal health record , publicity, and popularization of the use of personal health records.  Jean’s blog at www.healthrecordnews.com is one element of this.  (If you have not read her regular entries you should - they are a lot of fun and very informative). By the end of the year we hope to have a surprise for everyone. Watch this news column for information.

How might your health record be made available on-line and made secure?

Let’s say you have just moved across country with your family. Let’s say you’re moving in to your new home and, while performing some minor repair on your house, you cut your thumb badly with a small saw.

So you head to the emergency room or urgent care center. You don’t have your medical records with you – the last thought in your head as blood spurts from your thumb was to hunt down the medical records still packed away in a box in the garage – but your spouse isn’t worried, for she has the “card.”……..

Although this is realtively old news it still amazes me that within Europe that consumers have had their access and the right to most herbs and supplements so restricted. Dame Judy Dench narration of "We become silent" (You can view the video to buy on line here or streaming free link ) is a terrific warning of what could happen here in the US. Miller produced the film:

In August, Jean started working with MyHealthMyWorld to create a BLOG from a user’s perpective about better health management and health decisions through the use of a personal health record. We welcome Jean to the Coop and are excited by what she is doing. The BLOG fills a huge void in the information available about health records. The blog is about investigating and openly discussing what is and is not useful about personal health records. Why not take a read and decide if you want to subscribe to Jean’s regular contributions? Overtime, we hope this will emerge as a key on-line resource for discussing what we need from our personal health record, both to help steer MyHealthMyRecord but also other personal health records.

At MyHealthMyWorld, we are crazy dog lovers - but we don’t discriminate between cats, horses or other animal friends. Our pets bring us so much - to help pay them back we have started stocking a line of pet products. Our company dog mascot, William, is leading the way by encouraging product testing. Here is a picture of William keeping an eye on things in the office……. In future updates, we are sure to include more pet related information both on how your pet helps your health, but also ideas on simple things that you can do to keep your pet healthy to a ripe old age.

MyHealthMyWorld is a community. If you have been following us for a while - you will have seen how we are trying to encourage your involvement and opinion in how we shape the community and the way we direct our resources. One of the biggest commitments that we have is towards providing free access to a personal health record, MyHealthMyRecord. We encourage you to use it even if you don’t shop with us. Please use it and encourage other friends and family to do so. You will gain immediate benefit and overtime the value of the first step you take in creating the record will be paid back many times.

Things at MyHealthMyWorld web site never stay the same for very long. We have a long list of topics articles. But we are always interested in what you have to say about our topics and encourage stories/articles from you. Over the next two months we will be expanding our product lines with extensions particularly to herbal, pet and natural beauty products. On many products we try to provide our MyHealth and MyWorld rating of our opinion for the relative effectiveness of the product and ecological/sustainability of the manufacturing company. You, too, are encouraged to add your own experience.
